The Coaches of MCF

"A good coach will make his players see what they can be rather than what they are"

Russell Mock

Exercise Science Degree - Western Michigan University

CrossFit Level 2 Certified - USAW Coach

CrossFit Gymnastics Certified - CrossFit Rowing Certified

CrossFit Strongman Certified - CrossFit Football Certified

Spartan SGX Certified - Spartan Obstacle Specialist

Never an outstanding athlete, Russ found his passion for exercise and training in the actual process of training.  Learning new skills or setting personal records on lifts or in races is what drives him to continuously seek improvement.  After earning his exercise science degree from WMU he moved home with intentions of opening a CrossFit Affiliate.  Muskegon CrossFit is that facility that he once dreamed of, what he did not know was the awesome community of people that would come along with it!

Russ does his best of balancing his athletic endeavors between competitive CrossFit, Spartan Racing, and Trail Running.  With 8 years of CrossFit experience and 6 years of coaching he is always in pursuit of attaining more knowledge on the subject in order to better the athletes at Muskegon CrossFit.

Cody Stenberg

CrossFit Level 2 Certified

USAW Coach

An athlete all of his life, Cody excelled at wrestling and earned runner up at the Michigan High School State Finals wrestling for Reeths Puffer.  Cody started CrossFit back in 2013 to mend an injured knee and improve his strength and conditioning for wrestling and it soon turned into his new passion.  A small business owner (Great Lakes Sewer & Septic), he has a great work ethic that shows in his own training and coaching diligence.

"I come for the workout, but I stay for the community" - Cody

Rosalyn Robinson

CrossFit Level 2 Certified

2X CrossFit Games Regional Athlete

Rosalyn started her interest in fitness and sports here in Norton Shores, playing basketball, volleyball and track for the Mona Shores Sailors.  She continued her volleyball career while pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree at Michigan Tech, where she ultimately graduated, found a day job, and retired from the world of competitive sports. She realized the globo gym/treadmill life wasn't for her when some friends in Denver started Mile High Crossfit.  She attended her first Crossfit class in 2010 and has been hooked ever since. Since then, she has competed at the Reebok Crossfit Regionals team competition 3 times (2013-2015), with a notable fifth place finish in the South Central Region in 2014.

In 2015, her training shifted to accommodate the anticipated arrival of her now 2 year-old twins.  Rosalyn finds time to work on her mom bod by maintaining a healthy work/ life balance. She believes that health and fitness is not constrained by age, but can be adopted at any stage in life and enjoyed by the whole family. From training for competition, to finding the right WOD modifications in your third trimester, to I'm-just-happy-I-found-time-to-work-out-today, Rosalyn has a "you vs. you" mantra when coaching, striving to help athletes achieve their goals.

Charlie Cullen

An athlete in the swimming community from 5 years old through college, Cheri excelled at swimming and earned a swimming scholarship at The University of West Florida where she majored in business management . Cheri started CrossFit back in 2017 looking for a new passion, and fell in love with it.  Cheri also has a huge passion for nutrition and is currently becoming certified as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist. Muskegon is happy to announce to have an in house nutritionist to assist our athletes in building a healthy relationship with food and achieving their goals. She will also be a huge asset on the administrative side of things assisting in daily operations, planning events and keeping Russ on task.  Cheri is excited to take on a few Muskegon's Best Boot Camp classes this summer and help in a myriad of ways to make MCF a great place to train!

Jordy Bergeron PA-C

CrossFit Level 1 Certified

JorDonna has been at Muskegon CrossFit since 2013.  She was a dual sport athlete, playing both volleyball and tennis throughout her college career at Olivet. After getting her Bachelors in Biology/Pre-Med, she found CrossFit in 2013 which perfectly filled her void for sports and a team atmosphere. She soon found herself competing in not only CrossFit competitions, but Spartan Race's and mud runs. While keeping up with her fitness and health goals, she attended Grand Valley State University and graduated with her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies. She is currently working as a Physician Assistant at West Shore Cardiology, specializing in both Cardiology and Internal Medicine.  She recently attended and earned her CFL1 certification to gain an even deeper understanding of the CrossFit methodology.  We appreciate her willingness to share her knowledge of training when called upon.

"Working in the healthcare field, I see chronic and preventable disease daily. This has only intensified my passion for both CrossFit and preventative medicine by allowing me to incorporate functional fitness into other people's lives."
